Sam Faddis is a former U.S. Army combat arms officer and retired CIA ops officer who spent 20 years undercover in South Asia and the Middle East working against rogue states, terrorist groups and WMD smuggling networks. Prior to joining CIA, Sam was a U.S. Army Armor and JAG officer (Captain), and then served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington.

In 2002 Sam took the first CIA team into Iraq almost a full year in advance of the invasion of that country. After his retirement from CIA, he spent another ten years building and running complex training courses for operatives employed by NSA, DIA, DOE, military counterintelligence units and other components of the IC. He has also taught for a number of academic institutions including the University of Maryland, King College and Tulane University.

He is the author of seven books and the senior editor for AND Magazine, an online publication focused on national security issues. Faddis is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland School of Law.

REGISTRATION FOR THE MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER EVENT IS NOW CLOSED!

Author and journalist Michael Shellenberger is coming to WOW from Berkeley, California where he lives with his wife, Helen Lee and their two children. It’s also where he keeps his suitcases and where he periodically returns to refresh after traveling. He does a lot of traveling.

Shellenberger was born (1971) and raised in Colorado to Mennonite parents. He writes about politics, the environment, climate change and nuclear power. His work has won him high accolades. Shellenberger’s journalistic repertoire is wide. Lately, he has been in the news and in front of congressional hearings frequently. This visit with Tucker Carlson about the folly of climate change political policies is a great interview and a good introduction for us to Shellenberger.

Kimberley Strassel is a member of the editorial board for The Wall Street Journal. She writes editorials, as well as the weekly Potomac Watch political column.

Ms. Strassel joined Dow Jones & Co. in 1994, working in the news department of The Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels, and then in London. She moved to New York in 1999 and soon thereafter joined the Journal's editorial page, working as a features editor, and then as an editorial writer. She assumed her current position in 2005.

Ms. Strassel, a 2014 Bradley Prize recipient, is a Fox News contributor and appears on the Sunday political shows. She is the author of two New York Times bestsellers: The Intimidation Game and Resistance (At All Costs).  Her newest book, The Biden Malaise: How America Bounces Back from Joe Biden's Dismal Repeat of the Jimmy Carter Years, is on shelves July 18.  She will be available to autograph your copy.

Biography

James O'Keefe is an American journalist and media innovator who uses undercover journalist footage and whistleblowers to create stories with his recognizable unconventional flair. He has founded three media organizations over his 15 year career.

O’Keefe is currently CEO of O’Keefe Media Group - OMG, which he founded in 2023. OMG is dedicated to empowering citizen journalists to replicate his model of exposing corruption and fraud. He’s unleashed hundreds of citizen journalists who bring back documented untold stories.

James O'Keefe is a force for Truth.

O’Keefe tells Edward Welch in an interview for The Chronicles that when he was at Rutgers, his newspaper column was not renewed. O’Keefe’s response to that was to start a competing publication he called The Centurion. Fast forward to early 2023 for “déjà vu all over again” on a bigger scale.  Since graduation, his career awards include the Robert Novak Award for Journalistic Excellence in 2011, and the Young Professional Conservative Leadership Buckley Award in 2014 for “significant achievements in advancing the Conservative cause." O’Keefe’s latest undercover sting has FOX Producer Sean Langille recorded saying that Tucker Carlson’s firing was negotiated in a recent sealed lawsuit settlement. FOX News says it is “categorically false” that the Dominion settlement at all impacted the decision to terminate Carlson.

Permitting such a glaring policy inconsistency would fundamentally undermine this entire EU forced labor proposal."

Mr. Nigel Farage is an internationally recognized British politician who co-founded and led the UK Independence Party (UKIP) from 2006 to 2016. As the leader of the Brexit party from 2019 to 2021, Mr. Farage accomplished what many said was impossible: he led the fight to withdraw the UK from the European Union.

Mr. Farage saw the dangers ahead as the European Union increasingly exerted its power and dominance over the member countries. In June 2016, British voters agreed to Brexit. Outside London at the same time, there was enormous support and agreement that it was time to leave, and that is what they called the movement. All over the hillsides of England were huge signs proclaiming simply “LEAVE.”

In June 2016, British voters did vote to leave the EU. Even with that decision made, it fell to the political machinery of the Prime Minister to undertake the negotiations of the UK withdrawal. This remarkable political accomplishment earns Mr. Farage an important role in future history books, and he continues to be one of the most influential and inspiring figures in British politics today.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain now has a brand new Prime Minister as well as a new King. The European Union appears to be collapsing, and there are global financial and supply hardships everywhere. We are in historic times.

WOW Fall Kick-Off

Mercedes Viana Schlapp is a prominent Latina national leader and a political media commentator. She is currently a Senior Fellow at the American Conservative Union Foundation and regularly hosts the online show America UnCanceled on CPAC NOW. She worked in The White House for two different presidential administrations in senior level positions. In 2017, Mercedes was Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications where she advised on messaging and served as one of the top communicators. She also developed and executed communication policy rollouts in coordination with the White House offices and the Cabinet. During President George W. Bush’s term, she worked as the Director of Specialty Media in The White House where she was a spokesperson and created communication strategies that reached out to Americans of all backgrounds.

Mercedes also has extensive experience and insight into presidential campaigns. In 2020, she was Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications for the Trump Pence campaign. She was the architect for building a successful Hispanic communications and political outreach campaign in both English and Spanish, which produced historic Hispanic support for the President. She also created and produced the Team Trump online programs that reached over 3 million viewers nightly. She also hosted The Right View, a weekly on-line talk show that focused on policies impacting American women. SMF has exploded onto the scene in Washington state since their inception in August 2021. Their mission is to fight government overreach through education, advocacy and litigation. They've provided legal representation to Washington state residents who have been harmed by the Inslee executive overreaches of mandates that cost livelihoods, impaired educational opportunities for students, and unconstitutionally infringed on personal (medical, et al) freedoms. Each of us knows a personal story from our family or our friends who have been wounded during the apparently never-ending Inslee executive powertrip of unscientific mandates and proclamations. 

Eric will explain how the group coalesced so quickly and explain their future plans to fight government overreach in our state. Pete will elaborate on the many lawsuits they've filed against the government and potential future litigation. You will be as excited as we are to learn what they are doing. Finally, there is something to celebrate for those of us in Washington state who believe in the rule of law, and while we’ve waited silently for justice, Eric and Pete with SMF are doing something about it.

Crime, Woke Prosecutors, and the Demise of the Rule of Law - How Do We Save America?

Matthew G. Whitaker was acting Attorney General of the United States (2018-2019).  Prior to becoming acting Attorney General, Mr. Whitaker served as Chief of Staff to the Attorney General. He was appointed as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa by President George W. Bush, serving from 2004-2009. Whitaker was the managing partner of Des Moines based law firm, Whitaker Hagenow & Gustoff LLP from 2009 until rejoining DOJ in 2017. He was also the Executive Director for FACT, The Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust, an ethics and accountability watchdog, between 2014 and 2017. 

Mr. Whitaker is the author of the book--"Above the Law, The Inside Story of How the Justice Department Tried to Subvert President Trump".

Mr. Whitaker graduated with a Master of Business Administration, Juris Doctor, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa.  While at Iowa, Mr. Whitaker was a three-year letterman on the football team where he received the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor.

Mr. Whitaker is now a Co-Chair of the Center for Law and Justice at America First Policy Institute, a Senior Fellow at the American Conservative Union Foundation and Of Counsel with the Graves Garrett law firm.  He is on the Board of Directors of America First Legal and MAGA Again Super PAC. Christian Whiton is Senior Fellow at the Center for the National Interest, and a principal at DC International Advisory. Previously, Mr. Whiton was a State Department senior advisor during the Trump and George W. Bush administrations. He advised on public diplomacy, media, and East Asia issues. Socialism vs. Capitalism

Daniel Di Martino is a Venezuelan freedom activist and economist. He was born and raised in Venezuela, where he experienced the terrible consequences of socialism firsthand. After fleeing Venezuela for the United States in 2016, he has dedicated himself to explaining how socialism destroyed his homeland, advocating for its freedom, and stopping this ideology from ever being implemented in America and elsewhere. Gordon G. Chang is the author of The Great U.S.-China Tech War and Losing South Korea, booklets released by Encounter Books.  His previous books are Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes On the World and The Coming Collapse of China, both from Random House.

Brian T. Kennedy is President of the American Strategy Group, a think tank dedicated to understanding the strategic threats to the United States. Mr. Kennedy is also a board member and senior fellow of the Claremont Institute where he served as president from 2002 to 2015. During his 25-year tenure at the Claremont Institute, he directed their Golden State Center in Sacramento, their National Security Project, and served as publisher of the Claremont Review of Books.

Mr. Kennedy is the chairman of the Committee on the Present Danger: China, founded in March of 2019. He is also a member of the Independent Working Group on Missile Defense. Mr. Kennedy is the author of Communist China’s War Inside  America by Encounter Books (June 2020). His articles on national security affairs and public policy issues have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, National Review, Investor's Business Daily, and Hillsdale College’s Imprimis. He is a regular on The Bill Bennett Show Podcast. Mr. Kennedy was a National Security Surrogate for Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July 2016. Mr. Kennedy is a native Californian and a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was first elected to the United States Senate in 2010, and set one objective for himself while in office: to help bring the American Dream back into reach of those who feel it is slipping away. That’s the goal line Senator Rubio strives toward with his every effort, and it’s the measure he uses to keep score.

Senator Rubio is passionate about the American Dream because he’s lived it himself. His parents came to America from Cuba in 1956 and earned their way to the middle class by working humble jobs. Senator Rubio has spent most of his life in West Miami, and lives there today with his wife Jeanette and their four children. Prior to being sworn into the Senate in 2010, Senator Rubio served as a City Commissioner for West Miami before serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008.

Kimberley Strassel is a member of the editorial board for The Wall Street Journal. She writes editorials, as well as the weekly Potomac Watch political column, from her base in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Strassel joined Dow Jones & Co. in 1994, working in the news department of The Wall Street Journal Europe in Brussels, and then in London. She moved to New York in 1999 and soon thereafter joined the Journal's editorial page, working as a features editor, and then as an editorial writer. She assumed her current position in 2005.

Ms. Strassel, a 2014 Bradley Prize recipient, is a regular contributor to Sunday political shows, including CBS's "Face the Nation," Fox News Sunday, and NBC's "Meet the Press."   Ms. Strassel is the author of "Resistance (At All Costs): How Trump Haters Are Breaking America" which makes the case that it is Trump's critics, in their zeal to oppose the president, who are undermining our foundations.

Hegseth previously served in Iraq with the 3rd Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division for their 2005-2006 deployment, serving as an Infantry Platoon Leader in Baghdad in 2005, and as a Civil-Military Operations officer in Samarra in 2006. He also served in Guantanamo Bay for a year guarding detainees. Hegseth holds two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman's Badge for his time in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hegseth previously served as the Chief Executive Officer for Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) from 2012-2015, the largest conservative veterans and military families organization in America. Prior to joining CVA, Hegseth was Executive Director for Vets for Freedom from 2007-2011, an organization committed to victory on the battlefield.

Hegseth graduated from Princeton University in 2003 with a degree in Politics and completed a Masters in Public Policy at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2013. Hegseth has four young children--Gunner, Boone, Rex and Gwendolyn--who, he prays, will someday be "IN THE ARENA" for God and country.
